The latest news from Germany's air cargo gateway
Tomorrow, 3 October 2020, Germany celebrates the 30th anniversary of its unification. Today, 2 October, the ITJ 41-42/2020 appears with a Germany special. And here is some more air cargo news from Frankfurt:
Fraport, the owner and operator of Frankfurt airport (FRA), will be using two additional state-of-the-art refrigerated trailers from Alha for the transportation of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products. This will take its total fleet for cross-apron transportation up to 20 temperature-controlled transporters.
Earlier this week, Fraport began construction of a new truck parking lot at "CargoCity South". The roughly 14,500 sqm lot near Airport Gate 32 will provide space for another 61 trucks, bringing the total truck parking spaces available at CargoCity South to 135 and is set to be operational by the end of 2021.
Meanwhile, after a construction phase of just under one year, Fraport handed over the keys for a new cargo handling warehouse to Swissport Cargo Services Deutschland as the facility’s future operating company. (ah)
