The flood of M&A continues
The Loxx logistics group, headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, home to the famous German football club Schalke 04, is to be taken over by Rhenus. Besides activities in the Rhine-Ruhr region, the company is also a supplier of international logistics services.
In addition to the holding company at the headquarters, the acquisition includes five operational locations, three of them in the Polish cities of Warsaw, Poznań and Katowice.
Traditionally, Loxx has strong links with Eastern Europe, but has also developed its Western European relations over the past ten years.
The focus of the approximately 17,000 sqm logistics centre in Gelsenkirchen is to provide customer solutions for the chemical industry, in addition to cross-border traffic.
The existing agreements with the general cargo cooperations VTL and CTL will be retained. Financial details were not disclosed and the acquisition is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities. (sh)
