The desert lives
The Désert Group, which specialises in bulk and liquid transport, has taken over Jean Moreau Transport. The French company, which had been in receivership since 2018, was sold by owner Frédéric Moreau, who wanted to retire. 55 employees, including 45 drivers, transferred to the new owner.
The company, which will henceforth operate under the brand name Désert Val de Loire, is thus the group's fourth entity after Désert Transport, Désert Lavage and Désert Maintenance. With this acquisition, the Désert Group will have EUR 60 million in turnover, 450 employees and 350 vehicles.
Désert has made several acquisitions over the last ten years, including Trans Ouest and Argentais. Sylvain Désert has been at the helm of the group since 2010. (sh)
