The Alliance: changes in spring 2022
The Alliance will introduce several adjustments to its network in spring 2022. A key change is the split of the hitherto FP2 pendulum loop into the two services FE5, linking Southeast Asia to Europe, and PS7, linking Southeast Asia and South China to the Transpacific West Coast.
In addition, larger ships will be deployed on the most frequented services to meet the demand for increased capacity. A number of new fuel efficient 11,000 teu vessels will replace older units of the fleet.
While continuing its commitment to lowering its carbon footprint, the Alliance is also responding to current disturbances in the supply chains.
The members of the Alliance said in a press release that they "have recognised that the disruptions and bottlenecks in key ports worldwide are causing delays to the supply chains. Hence, they will continuously put utmost efforts into flexible and robust recovery measures for a quicker turnaround of sailings." (sh)
