Testing an all-electric 18 t truck in Stuttgart
The Dachser mixed vehicle fleet for emission-free deliveries in the centre of Stuttgart (Germany), is now complete after a ceremony was held to hand over the keys of an all-electric 18 t Mercedes-Benz eActros.
Dachser will integrate the eActros into its ongoing test operations in Stuttgart and use the vehicle for transporting deliveries directly to customers and to the micro-hub in the Heslach district of Stuttgart. From there, pedelecs are used for the last mile.
The eActros has a range of 200 km, and offers a 4 to 5 t payload and space for 18 pallets. Its 240 kWh lithium-ion batteries charge in two hours at 150 kW. The prototype is set to go into large-scale production in 2021. (ben)
