Tenders for terminals in northern Angola
The Angolan government has launched an invitation to tender for the 20-year concession to run passenger and cargo terminals in the ports of Cabinda and Soyo, in the northern province of Zaire.
Investors have 40 working days from the publication of the notice in the ‘Jornal de Angola’ to submit proposals. The initiative, based on presidential order no. 210/23, aims to enhance regional logistics, strengthen cabotage in northern Angola, create jobs and improve freight and passenger transport.
Cabinda and Soyo are key hubs that are well-connected to Luanda and neighbouring countries’ ports, particularly for the oil sector.
The concession is intended to optimise the management, operation and maintenance of the terminals, boosting efficiency and sustainability. The tender was officially launched by Rui Carreira, the secretary of state for civil aviation and the maritime and port sector. (ah)
