Teleport picks Wexco Group as GSSA in Australia
Wexco Group, Australia’s longest-serving GSSA, has signed a contract with Teleport, the logistics venture of Capital A (formerly known as Air Asia). It covers three airlines for all belly capacity originating from Australia and New Zealand.
The contract puts the ECS Group subsidiary in charge of filling a total of 43 flights per week out of Sydney (SYD), Perth (PER), and Melbourne (MEL). The 22 A330-300 Kuala Lumpur flights operated by Air Asia X, the seven Bangkok flights of Thai Air Asia X, also operated by A330-300, and Indonesia Air Asia's 14 A320 flights with Denpasar offer an average weekly uplift of 120 t.
Both partners are expecting to capitalise on the strong movements of perishable cargo, health food supplements, electrical goods, general cargo (consolidations) and mail within the region. (ah)
