Teleport injects cargo capacity to Southeast Asia
With the operation of its very first freighter, a dedicated B737-800F, and the use of two Air Asia A320 "preighters", Teleport, the logistics venture of Air Asia Digital, is further reinforcing its position as a regional air logistics player.
The freighter will begin operations in Q3/21 and will operate out of the Teleport hub in Bangkok. The additional capacity will strengthen the service provider's route network between China, India and Southeast Asia, and offer improved connectivity to and from Teleport’s long-haul markets.
The A320s are based in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur and continue their schedule to key cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Jakarta and Yangon. The conversions were performed by Asia Digital Engineering (ADE), the wholly owned subsidiary of Air Asia Group Berhad, and by Thai Air Asia. (ah)
