Tamale Intl airport terminal commissioned
Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president of the Republic of Ghana, has commissioned the new Tamale International Airport. This follows the successful operationalisation of the terminal and the transfer of operations from the old to the new terminal.
The vice president was optimistic that other service providers will invest in areas such the establishment of MRO facilities, cargo facilities and cold store facilities for the storage and subsequent export of fresh produce.
The phased development of Tamale Airport is part of an elaborate plan to provide an alternative to Kotoka International Airport with a capability to handle wide body aircraft in emergency situations. (cj)
