Taking the cold chain down South
CJ Logistics America is opening a new cold storage warehouse in Gainesville, Georgia. The 25,084 sqm building is being developed by RL Cold and will feature Alta’s expert refrigeration systems and QFM blast freezing. Products can be brought to desired temperatures within 24 hours.
The property will include three storage rooms for products such as finished goods, bakery items and proteins. It is located near Atlanta and close to a large poultry production industry and other regional markets.
The hub has access to road and rail networks and the future Northeast Georgia Inland Port, which is expected go on stream in 2026. This will provide a direct link to the port of Savannah. The project expands CJ Logistics’ cold chain and brings it closer to the protein production market. (mk)
