Tackling e-commerce on Black Friday

The 11th of November is Singles' Day in China, followed two weeks later by Black Friday, an important period for e-commerce logistics. The company has over 30 e-commerce warehouses worldwide.

During Black Friday, demand can be 40 to 50% higher than in other months. One e-commerce warehouse in China handled 1.3 million items and almost 1 million parcels during this period in 2021.

DB Schenker’s automated goods-to-person system AutoStore uses warehouse robots and is based on a digital warehouse management system. It enables goods logistics and the e-commerce portfolio to be organised efficiently.

In the linked video, Andre Lehnen, global business development manager e-commerce at DB Schenker, talks about the most important topics for Black Friday. (mk)
