Switzerland adopts further EU regulations
Last week, Switzerland agreed to include various EU legal stipulations in the annex of its air transport treaty. The first of the regulations in question sets minimum insurance amounts for air carriers’ liability in case of damage to baggage or cargo. Switzerland already applies these minimum amounts under the Montreal Convention, to which Switzerland is a signatory.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the application dates for rules adopted in June 2020 concerning additional health checks for flight crew members will be postponed.
The government approved the adoption of these provisions in a cabinet meeting on 25 November. They will enter into force in Switzerland on 1 February 2021. (ah)
