Switzerland adopts EU rules on drones and Brexit

On Sunday, 1 September 2019, new regulations of the air transport agreement with the EU will come into effect in Switzerland. The most important provision is the new European framework regulation on aviation safety which also covers unmanned aircraft (drones).

In addition, a new provision will allow the airline operators concerned and the European Aviation Safety Agency enough time to issue the certificates for private individuals and legal entities from the UK that will become necessary after Brexit when the United Kingdom assumes third-country status.

With this regulation, Swiss manufacturers of aircraft material will be able to continue production and airlines will be able to continue using aircraft material in accordance with European Union laws. (ah)
