Swissport to take second half of HCH shares
Swissport has agreed to increase its shareholding in Heathrow Cargo Handling (HCH) from 50 to 100%. The HCH joint venture with Air France has been providing cargo handling services to the airlines at London Heathrow airport (LHR), one of Europe’s busiest air cargo hubs, since 1995.
Luzius Wirth, EVP Europe, Middle East & Africa: "On the basis of over 20 years of successful business we now have the right set-up to further develop and enhance our service offering at LHR."
The HCH acquisition enables Swissport to invest further in its air cargo operation and service capabilities at LHR, where it operates two warehouses with a total surface area of some 15,300 sqm.
Last year, the HCH joint venture, with a workforce of around 120 employees, handled over 150,000 t of air cargo, 7% more than in 2017. (ah)
