Swissport covers all of UK for Lufthansa Cargo
Swissport in the UK has won a major cargo handling contract from the Lufthansa Group for London Heathrow airport (LHR). The global provider of ground services and cargo handling now takes care of the German airline group’s cargo at all of its UK destinations.
In the future, Swissport will handle air cargo for approximately 30 flights per week, connecting the hubs of Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines in Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Vienna with the UK. The company also offers landside trucking services.
Jason Gaskell, Swissport's COO (cargo) in the UK & Ireland: "We are pleased to be able to offer our premium air cargo handling services to the Lufthansa Group at London Heathrow, where we handle around 11,000 t per year for their airlines." (ah)
