Swissport consolidates at new Berlin airport
After first starting up at the airports of Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF), Swissport has relocated its Berlin services to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), which began operations last week-end. An Egypt Air service departing to Cairo today, 6 November 2020, will be the first flight served by Swissport at BER. With Air Baltic and Aegean, the company will also provide ground services for two new customers.
As of 9 November, all Swissport’s air cargo services will be provided at the station, including general and special freight handling, express services and freight forwarding. With 2,100 sqm, the new warehouse offers 60% more space compared to TXL. In addition, the use of dual-view X-ray technology enables Swissport to make the security processes for air cargo handling more efficient. (ah)
