Swiss Worldcargo promotes Gieri Hinnen
Gieri Hinnen, currently head of labour relations and human resource steering at Swiss, has been appointed head of global cargo sales, effective 1 February 2023.
In his new capacity, Hinnen will be in charge of Swiss Worldcargo’s commercial division. He succeeds Alexander Arafa, who is taking early retirement at the end of 2022, after 28 years of working in various roles at Swissair, Swiss and Lufthansa Group.
Hinnen began his career at Swiss when he joined the external affairs unit in 2009. He then went on to take over Swiss strategic communications, before assuming his current role in 2017.
“I'm really pleased that we've secured Hinnen's services for this role,” said Lorenzo Stoll, head of cargo. Swiss Worldcargo also took the opportunity to thank Arafa for his outstanding dedication and valuable work in the past years. (cj)
