Swiss reduces and adds Far East capacity
Swiss flights between Zurich and Shanghai/Beijing will be suspended until 24 April. From today, 4 March, to 30 May the frequency of flights to Hong Kong will be reduced to 5/7 days.
On 1 March, however, Swiss World Cargo began its five times weekly A340 service to Osaka, Japan’s third-largest city and major centre for commerce and the pharmaceutical, manufacturing and financial industries.
A team of three will lead the charge: Newly hired Jun Nakatani has taken over as the head of cargo Osaka and Kansai region; Tango Tomonari, based in Tokyo, continues to lead the Japan team; and on the ground, support from local handling agent ANA Cargo will help to provide crucial support in quick loading and unloading.
Swiss and Swiss World Cargo have also reduced flights to Italy, but the carrier's trucking network will continue to remain available for its customers. (ah)
