Swiss intermodal operator prepares for digitalisation
While new railway infrastructures such as the Gotthard Base Tunnel will offer many opportunities to further develop railfreight services, the intermodal industry also calls for digitalisation and better ways to handle big data.
Therefore, Switzerland-based transport operator Hupac has chosen Quintiq to implement a new capacity management system that will optimise Hupac's operations and provide further improved services for Hupac's customers.
The intermodal provider operates 100 trains each day between Europe's main economic areas and as far away as Russia and the Far East. In 2015, the company carried a total of around 662,000 road consignments. (ben)
