Swiss forwarders banking on e-trucks
Renault recently handed over the first battery-electric E-Tech T tractor units to the Swiss haulage companies Hugelshofer and Schöni. The truck manufacturer has delivered 359 electric vehicles in Switzerland since 2020, 40% of which are heavy commercial vehicles with a mileage of 1.5 million km.
E-trucks are becoming increasingly popular. By 2030, 9,000 or 15% of trucks are expected to be electric, and by 2040 this figure will rise to 50%. Switzerland is also investing heavily in charging infrastructure: CHF 175 million is to be spent on 15 fast-charging hubs by 2030. (ben)
