Swiss digital driving specialist goes to Germany
The Swiss digital driver technology specialist Loxo has opened an affiliate in Munich. Loxo’s software is Europe’s first level 4 autonomous driving technology to operate on public roads.
In September, the family-owned haulier Planzer launched a pilot in Bern (Switzerland) for last-mile deliveries through autonomous technology with the autonomous vehicle called “Mathilde” (photo). Since the start of the project, “Mathilde” has been navigating Bern’s streets without a human driver.
Over the next two years, the vehicle will run multiple daily routes, delivering packages to 14 strategically located micro-hubs on a 67 km network. (ben)
