Swiss-Canadian cooperation on medical deliveries
Toronto-based Volatus Aerospace has partnered with Swiss drone firm Rigitech to expand its drone delivery network.
The deal will integrate Rigitech’s ‘Eiger’ long-range drone into Volatus’ operations, enabling payloads of up to 3 kg over 100 km—ideal for medical deliveries to rural and remote areas.
“This extends our reach and complements our existing RPAS fleet,” said Glen Lynch, CEO of Volatus. “Rigitech is a strong addition to our partner system.”
Volatus currently operates drone delivery services near Toronto and Edmonton, remotely managed from its operations control centre in Vaughan.
Rigitech CEO Adam Klaptocz said that “Volatus’ remote operations are the perfect platform to scale our Eiger system.” Volatus will present the partnership in a webinar set to take place today, 25 March. (ah)
