Swedish know-how for the C-390 Millenium
Saab and Embraer have signed a MOU to deepen their collaboration several areas, particularly concerning business development and engineering opportunities.
The companies will also cooperate to position the C-390 Millennium aircraft (photo) as the preferred solution to meet the Swedish Air Force’s tactical air transport requirements, and will evaluate the integration of Saab equipment and systems into the aircraft.
The C-390 Millennium can carry more payload (26 t) compared to other medium-sized military cargo aircraft and flies faster (870 km/h) and farther. It has a wide range of capabilities, such as transporting and dropping cargo, humanitarian missions and operating on temporary or unpaved runways (i.e. including packed earth, soil and gravel). (cj)
