SVP service to call Subic Bay
Subic Bay International Terminals (Sbitc) in the Philippines, which is operated by International Container Terminal Services (Ictsi), welcomed the arrival of a new service that expands the port's connectivity to South China and Vietnam.
Henry Dungca, Sbitc terminal manager: "The South China Vietnam Philippines (SVP) service offers a good opportunity to Northern and Central Luzon traders, who can leverage the increased connectivity to markets in Vietnam and China."
The “Danum 175” arrived on 9 June 2023 with 1,200 teu onboard. The vessel is operated by Emirates Shipping Line, a new player in the Philippine market.
SVP is now part of the dozen weekly services and major shipping lines calling the terminal. Indeed, the rotation Shekou – Nansha – Xiamen – Manila North – Subic – Xiamen – Shekou – Nansha – Ho Chi Minh – Shekou will make weekly calls to Subic. SVP will particularly improve Subic’s connections to and from Vietnam, which is currently seeing a growing demand for its agriculture and manufacturing exports. (lh)
