Sustainability targets defined

Hoyer, a haulier based in Germany, has again raised the benchmark with ambitious targets in the incident avoidance area and in reducing CO2 emissions.

Aim is, inter alia, to lower CO2 emissions by a further 10% by 2025. Between 2010 and the end of 2020, Hoyer already managed to decrease CO2 emissions by at least 29%. To achieve this result, the company gradually replaced old trucks with a sustainable fleet, extended its intermodal transport services and improved the management of its transports and equipment.

Today, 98% of Hoyer’s vehicles are equipped with Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines. In order to reduce emissions even further, the bulk transport specialist is already testing alternative drive systems and is in dialogue with truck manufacturers to evaluate new developments. (ben)
