Sunrock’s solar power for Levi Strauss & Co
Sunrock, a developer of photovoltaic systems for large-scale roofs, has put a system for Levi Strauss & Co into operation. Starting in January 2022, the lighthouse project, called "Positive Footprint Wearhouse", was built according to the plans of Delta Development on a 124,000 sqm site in Dorsten (North Rhine Westphalia, Germany).
Levi Strauss & Co. will use it as a distribution centre and is aiming for sustainability standards. The facility has been supplying green electricity since September 2023.
From January 2024, a battery unit with 1,000 kWh capacity, controlled by a Sunrock software solution, will help store surplus electricity. CO2 emissions will be monitored throughout construction and operation, so that all emissions will be offset by 2050 as planned and climate neutrality will be achieved. (mk)
