Strong H1 figures for Asstra
The international logistics group Asstra - Associated Traffic has reported its results for the first half of 2021. Sales grew by 25% compared to the same period in 2020, amounting to EUR 207.8 million. The group's gross profits increased by 8%. Road transport remains the backbone of Asstra’s activities. Its share of the total number of transports stood at 88%. 84,000 orders were completed in H1/2021, an increase of 23,000 orders compared to the first half of 2020.
The number of international transports grew by 17%. The total weight of the goods delivered during this period came to more than 2 million t, an increase of 4.5% compared to H1/2020. The company’s industrial project logistics division carried out twice as many projects compared to the same period in the previous year.
In the first two quarters of 2021, 1,733 new companies were added to Asstra’s customer portfolio. Over the period, 5,000 shipments were made by sea and 3,700 by rail. The number of air transports amounted to 2,600. In the case of sea transports, there was growth in deliveries to the USA, from the USA to the UK and from Germany to Azerbaijan.
Asstra group of companies CEO Dmitry Lagun said that “we’re set to open two offices in Valencia and Hamburg soon, in order to develop our activities in ports and to establish close cooperation with lines.” (sh)
