Strengthening spare parts supply
Kuehne + Nagel (KN) has added 55,000 sqm to its German portfolio and opened a new contract logistics hub in Rhineland-Palatinate. It will be used to supply KN’s client Wacker Neuson Group with spare parts for its light and compact equipment manufacturing.
Over 100,000 different spare parts will be warehoused and distributed from this hub, which will deploy a fleet of more than 30 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for storage, retrieval, and transport. 120 jobs will be created alongside the automation solution.
Building on a previous partnership of nine years, the companies are looking to enhance their joint operations and ensure a reliable supply chain for Wacker Neuson’s production plants. (mk)
