Strengthening Singapore's e-commerce
Singpost is collaborating with Cainiao to enhance growth in Singapore’s cargo and logistics sector, with a particular focus on the e-commerce market. Having signed an MOU last week, the two companies are looking to tap into Southeast Asia’s expanding e-commerce market. They will specifically explore the optimisation of delivery costs and means to boost volumes.
Furthermore, the partners will leverage Singapore’s air cargo transhipment capacity to improve postal products in the region by combining Singpost’s logistics network with Cainiao’s technological expertise.
“Given the rapid growth of e-commerce in the Southeast Asian market, there is a rising need for greater efficiency and faster delivery,” says Cainiao Group’s senior VP, William Xiong. The companies will first launch a pilot project before assessing different workstream options. (mk)
