Strengthening multimodal transport solutions
The German operator Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln (HGK) is strengthening the German Transport Forum (Deutsches Verkehrs-Forum DVF) in the fields of logistics and ports/shipping.
The company runs port facilities in Cologne and the surrounding area and offers multimodal transport solutions by rail, road and water. With around 2,500 employees, the HGK Integrated Logistics Group is made up of business areas such as intermodal transport, shipping, rail operations and infrastructure.
Steffen Bauer, CEO of HGK Shipping, emphasises the importance of the network for the transport transition. “We link our own assets with logistics services and rely on strong partnerships.” DVF managing director Dr Heike van Hoorn sees HGK’s accession as a strengthening of multimodal transport solutions. “Our network can benefit greatly from HGK’s expertise.” (ah)
