Strategic base for electric-hybrid aircraft
Volt Aero has taken another important step towards the full-scale production of its "Cassio" electric-hybrid aircraft family with the groundbreaking for a new industrial site at Rochefort airport (RCO) in France’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The 2,400 sqm facility, where the company anticipates producing approximately 150 aircraft per year, is scheduled for completion in August 2024. It will incorporate the final assembly line, a workshop, logistics area and the design/engineering offices, and has direct access to RCO's 2,280 m runway.
Volt Aero intends to design an aircraft family as a capable and reliable product line for regional commercial operators, air taxi/charter companies, private owners, as well as in utility-category service for cargo, postal delivery and medical evacuation applications. (ah)
