Strasbourg expands its position as hub in Alsace
Multi Modal Rail (MMR) is adding a third shuttle to its offer of connections between the inland port in Strasbourg (France) and the sea port in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). As from 12 November 2021, the container terminal Nord will be served on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
This service complements the existing Strasbourg connections with Antwerp and Zeebrugge (both Belgium) as well as the links within France via Gevrey with Marseille, Le Havre and Lyon.
Strasbourg’s inland port handles 8 million t of river transports and processes more than 400,000 containers per year. The port company has two subsidiaries, the Rhine Europe Terminals and Batorama. (ben)
