Stortz to head Marseille Fos development council
On 25 March Mathieu Stortz was elected president of the development council of the port of Marseille Fos for a five-year term, succeeding Jean-François Suhas.
Stortz, who previously served as vice-president of the council and is managing director of the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR), brings strong experience in port governance and sustainability with him.
The council is a consultative body of 40 members representing the region’s economic, social and environmental sectors. It advises on strategic planning and port tariff policy. Stortz has pledged to strengthen ties between the port and its surrounding territory and support the port’s strategic plan Marseille Fos 25–29. He previously initiated a key memorandum uniting the council behind a shared vision for the Fos Gulf, centred on decarbonisation, reindustrialisation and national sovereignty. (ah)
