Stockholm Norvik Port now fully open
A major new port opened on time and on budget in Sweden recently – despite the pandemic. The entire Stockholm Norvik Port, run by Ports of Stockholm, is now operational; its container terminal opened in May and its ro-ro terminal in November.
Ports of Stockholm chief commercial officer Johan Wallén believes that “Stockholm Norvik Port’s location in the Baltic Sea and its short approach lanes make it a strong alternative for goods being shipped to and from Stockholm.”
Stockholm Norvik Port, which covers 44 hectares and is 50 km south of Stockholm, was started in 2016 and cost SEK 3.8 billion (EUR 3.7 million) to build. It includes a container terminal at Frihamnen amnd a ro-ro terminal operated by Ports of Stockholm. (cd)
