STL ships steel roll to China
AIO member STL Logistik has successfully completed a heavylift shipment of a steel roll from Antwerp to Shanghai. The cargo, measuring 9.9 x 1.3 x 1.4 m and weighing 35 t, was transported on a 40 ft flat rack container. STL Logistik managed the pre-carriage from origin to the port of Antwerp using its own fleet.
Due to the cargo’s weight, a special permit was required, with approval and planning taking five weeks. The loading was carried out by a partner in Antwerp experienced in handling oversized freight. The shipment has now set sail for China. (js)
