Still committed to protecting wildlife
On 2 March 2021, San Francisco airport (SFO) welcomed the return of Emirates with the arrival of its first nonstop flight from Dubai in eleven months.
The Middle Eastern airline started SFO operations in 2008 and made it its first A380 West Coast destination that same year. Emirates plans to operate four flights per week, using B777-300ER capable of carrying approx. 21 t of cargo in addition to a full PAX load.
On "World Wildlife Day" which took place on 3 March, the Emirates Group reaffirmed its commitment to protecting wildlife and habitats.
Emirates Skycargo has adopted a zero tolerance policy on illegal wildlife trade which includes big cats, elephants, rhinos and pangolins, and has implemented a complete ban on hunting trophies for the Big-4, even when considered legal under CITES rules. (ah)
