STI serving cruise ships in European waters
The cruise ships operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCCL) are vast. The largest - "Symphony of the Seas" can accommodate as many as 6,800 passengers – and they need food and a lot of other items.
The service provider STI is in charge of the delivery tasks this summer. The subsidiary of Duisburg (Germany)-based STI Freight Management will transport goods at all temperature levels by road to RCCL’s cruise ships sailing in European waters.
A four-person team at the company’s control tower in Duisburg will ensure that all shipments are handled reliably, from order acceptance, through scheduling and route planning, up to delivery to the ship.
Drivers, who have undergone special cruise logistics training, convey the consignments to 43 ports. The multi-temperature trucks that are deployed can simultaneously transport frozen, fresh and ambient goods. (mw)
