Stengg and the power of the small aircraft
The Singapore-based MRO ST Engineering (Stengg) redelivered the world’s first A321 converted freighter to launch customer, Vallair.
The first in its size category to offer containerised loading in both the main and lower decks (14 main-deck positions can handle up to 27 metric tonnes), A321P2F’s payload-range makes it an "ideal narrowbody freighter aircraft for express domestic and regional operations".
Stengg plans to ramp up its efficiency and reduce conversion times for future P2F programmes at its four locations worldwide, in Singapore, ST Engineering Aerospace Guangzhou Aviation Services (China), VT San Antonio Aerospace (USA) and the EFW joint venture facility in Dresden (Germany). All nine slots for 2021 are full, including those for the A320. (ah)
