Stef publishes its trimester results
Stef, a provider of temperature-controlled transport and logistics services for food products, has announced sales of EUR 959 million for Q3/2023, a drop of 1.3%.
For Stef France, volumes handled in the fresh flow and supermarket segments continued to contract. The seafood business is adding to industry’s current difficulties. The frozen food business shows a very slight decline, while the out-of-home catering business is doing well.
Outside France, Portugal is making the biggest contribution to sales growth, thanks to the signing of new catering contracts. Italy, Spain and Switzerland also posted good results. Figures for the UK and the Netherlands however are down, due to the difficult economic climate.
For the final quarter, the group will continue to monitor and respond to prevailing economic trends and focus on finalising the acquisition of the Belgian company Transwest. (mk)
