Stef plans to sell its maritime business
The French-based specialist for temperature sensitive transports and logistics services for food products showed solid financial performance in 2022. The growth of revenue and operating income will allow the company to invest EUR 315 million in preparing its food transport and logistics activities in Europe for the future.
The company’s French business recorded a revenue of EUR 2,366 million (up 14%), and its international business outdid this performance by raising its revenung by 37%, reaching EUR 1,334 million. All countries except for Italy and Belgium were able to improve their results.
La Méridionale’s revenue in the maritime sector also grew in 2022, thanks in particular to gains in the services to Corsica, in line with the forecast, and the lifting of restrictions linked to the health crisis.
However, ongoing filling problems on the lines to Morocco continued to take their toll on Stef’s operating income. In early 2023, Stef began negotiations with the CMA CGM Group to sell its maritime activities, the company said. (ben)
