Stadler on track
Switzerland-based rail car manufacturer Stadler generated a revenue of CHF 1.1 billion in H1/2019. Order intake continues its very positive trend: in the first half of the year, it stood at around CHF 2.3 billion, which is around 1.5 billion above the previous year’s result.
At CHF 14.4 billion, the order backlog thus reached a new all-time high. Furthermore, Stadler has added more locations to its network. In Switzerland, the company will open the first part of a CHF 85 million production plant in St. Margrethen at the end of September.
In the USA, Stadler moved into the new plant in Salt Lake City in May and in Poland it has built a new depot. In Germany, Stadler has built and commissioned a depot in Herne and intends to expand its Berlin Pankow location. (ben)
