Spliethoff Group augments fleet
The Dutch Spliethoff Group has just augmented its fleet. The new vessels are the "Hudsongracht" (HHL Elbe) and "Humbergracht" (HHL Tyne), both of which are around 12,750 dwt and offer a combined crane capacity of 300 t.
On top of that, the company has added the "Heerengracht" (HHL Amur) and the "Houtmangracht" (HHL Mississippi), both around 12,750 dwt and offering a combined crane capacity of 360 t. These vessels were added to Spliethoff’s H-Type series, now consisting of five vessels in all.
At the same time, the heavylift ship "Prinsengracht" (HHL New York) was purchased. More recently, Spliethoff also took over five former Hansa Heavy Lift vessels. The P8-type series (around 20,100 dwt, with two holds and cranes for lifting a combined 800 t) now consists of an earlier acquired unit and one additional vessel, named "Pietersgracht" (HHL Kobe). All vessels are or will be reflagged to Dutch flag/register. (kd)
