Speeding up rail services between China and Russia
The Russian transport companies Fesco and RZD Logistics are planning to introduce a joint Rail Jet service and recently signed an agreement to this effect. Rail Jet will offer regular and quick freight transport services between Manchuria in China and Moscow in Russia in future, as an alternative to air transport.
For the shippers, Rail Jet’s services should also be significantly cheaper than by air, the two companies point out. The service is particularly aimed at transporting time-critical goods, mail, high-tech products, lithium-ion batteries and e-commerce goods. (ben)
