Spain’s logistics real estate market booming
The Spanish logistics market had registered a record of investment and contracting by September this year, according to data from CBRE.
The sector crossed the threshold of EUR 2 billion in investments (EUR 2.058 billion), contracting about two million sqm in the first nine months of the year. That's 24% more than the same period of 2021 and a new record mark.
Alberto de Larrazabal, director of industrial and logistics of CBRE Spain: "Beyond Madrid and Barcelona, this market has gained a lot of weight in cities like Valencia, Bilbao, Malaga and Sevilla. Institutional investors are particularly interested in last mile assets.”
In terms of contracting, the market reached a take-up of more than two million sqm between January and September 2022, 8% more than the same period of 2021. The contracting registered in the third quarter rose to 548,000 sqm, 1% less than the 555,000 sqm registered in the same period in 2021. (sh)
