Southgate Global's 2025 expectations
Southgate Global, a specialist for packaging, logistics and fulfilment from Norfolk (England), has addressed its expectations for this year, touching on topics such as automation, rising costs, supply chain insecurity and sustainability. Automation and sustainability are two of the main fields that logistics will focus on in 2025 – as detailed in yesterday’s ITJ Daily.
Southgate Global also mentions rising costs, however; employers’ national insurance contributions rose from 13.8 to 15% recently, for example. The company wants to invest in automation, to streamline labour costs and leverage a mobile-powered workstation designed to boost productivity.
To combat other supply chain challenges the firm will use forward planning and source diversification. Products such as the ‘Southgate Dock-Levelling Ramp’, together with the ‘Southgate Van-Loading Trolley Solution’, can help it speed up cargo operations and cut costs for final-mile journeys. (mk)
