Some lateral movement for HHLA in FY/2018
The German service provider Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHLA) was successful in financial year 2018 as it outperformed its already strong 2017 result.
Despite a harsher market environment in H2/2018, container throughput increased slightly, due in part to the integration of its acquired company HHLA TK Estonia, that country’s largest terminal operator.
HHLA’s container transport business posted 2018 results that were on a par with 2017, and property management activities resulted in a turnover of EUR 1.29 billion (+3.1%).
In FY 2018, the listed port logistics subgroup generated revenues of EUR 1.26 billion (2017: EUR 1.22 billion) and an operating result (ebit) of EUR 188 million (2017: 157 million). (kd)
