Software to optimise just-in-time deliveries

EF Logistik supplies German car dealerships and garages with spare parts from twelve locations. The company, which is part of the Emil Frey Group, has implemented the new intelligent transport management system “Greenplan Execution” developed by EPG (Ehrhardt Partner Group) to optimise route planning.

With the new software, dispatchers can now themselves define the optimum route calculation based on weighted factors (such as available vehicles, routes and customer specifications).

The system takes into account traffic flow speeds for individual roads and times of day to plan the best routes and appropriate starting times for each transport. (ben)
