Smet purchases 100 HVO-powered trucks
The Italian transport and logistics operator will receive the 100 new vehicles from Iveco this year. They will be deployed in the company’s transport and logistics network in Italy.
The 490-hp S-way fuel Hero trucks are two-axle vehicles featuring a Cursor 13 eVGT engine and a twelve-speed Hi-Tronix transmission. They have been designed to maximise fuel economy, to deliver up to 8% fuel savings and ensure that long-hauls remain sustainable.
Iveco S-Way diesel trucks are also 100% compatible with HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil), a biofuel produced from vegetable oils and waste, which can be used in pure form in all the latest diesel engines for greener transport, Iveco said. (ben)
