Slovakian cars shipped to Koper by train
A train loaded with 198 cars produced by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in Nitra (Slovakia) arrived on at Koper's car and ro-ro terminal on 22 June, for onward transport by barge. It's the first train with JLR cars to arrive at the Slovenian port.
Until now, the cars were transported from Nitra by regular truck shipments. JLR has been shipping cars through Koper since 2017. Since then, oversea export volumes have been on the increase.
The Slovenian port opened a new dedicated terminal with a rail access track and a new ro-ro berth in recent months, two major investments that provide further support for the automotive segment. From now on, JLR cars will be carried regularly from Nitra to Koper by rail. (ben)
