Slovak manufacturer to replenish Spanish fleet
The Spanish rail company Renfe Mercancias has ordered 149 carriages from the Slovak manufacturer Tatravagonka to expand, upgrade and diversify its fleet and improve its transport services. The contract has a total value of EUR 39.1 million. The next generation EU programme, which supports sustainable transport, will contribute EUR 14.5 million to the project.
Tatravagonka won the tender that was published in the official journal of the European Union (OJEU) in June 2023. As agreed in the contract, the manufacturer will supply the units in two batches within 22 months.
The order includes seventy-four 60" container carriages (SGNSS type) and seventy-five semi-trailer carriages (SDGGMRSS type). (ben)
